Where the Mountains Meet the Clouds

This artwork is called "Where the mountains meet the clouds." Inspired by the beautiful fells situated in Wasdale, The Lake District National Park. There's nothing quite like seeing the hilly horizon of Wasdale slowly getting covered by the clouds above. Cloudy weather is fairly common in Cumbria and I wanted to include it within the illustration. Included within this digitally drawn illustration we have Kirk Fell, hiding under it's cloudy cloak and surrounded by fields of sheep, separated by dry stone walls.

There'll never be a day that I am not awestruck by the beauty of the Lake District and this piece has been inspired by just that. As part of my illustrative style, I like to include colour that shouldn't necessarily be there. Hence, you will find mountains drawn in shades of pinks, purples and more! I love the textures of the great outdoors and as part of my process, I strive to depict this within my drawings. Given it's mix of colours it would be a lovely addition to any gallery wall.
